Qianjin township is under the jurisdiction of Daowai District of Harbin city. It is located in the northwest of the city, on the North Bank of Songhua River, adjacent to Binzhou railway in the East, Wanbao town in the West and Hulan County in the north. In the early Qing Dynasty, a naval camp was set up in shuangkoumen. After that, it was successively under the jurisdiction of Hulan city guard and Hulan vice governor. In the late Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Hulan Prefecture. After the founding of the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of Hulan County at the beginning, Songbei Municipal Council in 1920, and Songpu Municipal Council later. In 1958, it was changed into Qianjin people's Commune and put under the jurisdiction of Daoli District. In March 1963, it was under the jurisdiction of Binjiang District. In August 1972, it was put under the jurisdiction of Daowai District. In 1984, the government and society were separated and changed to Qianjin township. Qianjin township is close to the Songhua River, with flat terrain and fertile soil.
