Jixian Street

Old street name. Jixian sub district office is located in the south of Heping District, starting from Nanwu road in the north, Hunhe road in the south, Nanjing South Street in the west, Heping South Street in the East, west of Nanhu Park and Wanghu road. It covers an area of 2.13 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 60448 (2010). It governs 9 communities: Sanya community, taipingli community, guangfuli community, Nanjiu community, Nanshi community, Guangming community, Hupan community, Xinmao community and liaosheng community.

In December 2019, Shenyang Civil Affairs Bureau issued the notice on adjusting the administrative divisions of some streets in Heping District and other 10 areas, revoking Jixian street and dividing its jurisdiction into maluwan street. After the adjustment, the station of the street office in maluwan will remain unchanged.

Historical evolution

Jixian commune was established in 1978. In 1996, it covers an area of 1.2 square kilometers and has a population of 42000. It governs 21 neighborhood committees and is named after the ordinal number. In 2002, the office was located at No. 60-1 Heping South Street, with a population of 45600 and an area of 0.9 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 9 communities including Sanya, taipingli, Qinghua, guangfuli, chongguangli, Haikou, Nanshi, Nanyang and Nanjiu. in 2007, the south part of the original Xinxing Street South eight road was divided into Jixian street; the north part of the original Jixian Street South five road was divided into Taiyuan street, with an area of 1.88 square kilometers and a population of 72700. After the adjustment, the station of the street office in maluwan will remain unchanged.
