Yanjiao high tech Industrial Development Zone

Yanjiao got its name because it was located in the suburb of the capital of the state of Yan (today's Beijing) during the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, the first station of the Imperial Palace was built in Yanjiao, which is known as "the Imperial Palace at the foot of the emperor". Yanjiao Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in August 1992 with the approval of Hebei Provincial People's government. It was approved as a provincial high-tech Industrial Development Zone in December 1999 and upgraded to a national high-tech Industrial Development Zone in November 2010 with the approval of the State Council.

Yanjiao is 35 km away from Tiananmen and 25 km away from the capital airport. The planned area of Yanjiao is 108 square kilometers, the built-up area is 50 square kilometers, and the total population is 900000. Now it has jurisdiction over 2 towns (Yanjiao Town, Gaolou town), 2 streets (Xinggong East Street, Yingbin North Road Street Office), 92 village streets and 58 community neighborhood committees.
