Tiedong street is located in the east of Xiangfang city. It is adjacent to Xinxiangfang street in the East, Xincheng street in the west, Hongxing Village in Liming street in the South and Xinyi village in Xingfu town in the north.

Historical evolution

In the early days of liberation, there were only a few villages and more than 100 families in Tiedong area. In 1952, the state-owned Xiangfang wood processing plant was established in tengjiawopu, gradually forming a factory area and residential area. In 1956, the electric carbon plant was established in caojiawopu and the south end of Weizigou, with more and more residents. In 1956, Tongtian sub district office set up a timber banking office. On May 3, 1959, it was renamed timber management area. In September 1961, it was merged with the electric carbon management zone and renamed Tiedong Branch (Xinhua Branch) (first, it was called timber management zone in 1958, timber branch in 1962 and Tiedong Branch in 1966). In 1970, it merged with the Cultural Revolution commune. In 1971, it was separated from the commune of the cultural revolution and renamed Xinhua commune. On November 28, 1979, it was changed into Tiedong sub district office. In 1990, it covers an area of 13.5 square kilometers and has a population of 7915 households and 32379 people, of which the Han nationality accounts for 93%. It has jurisdiction over 27 residents committees and 495 residents groups, and the office is located at No. 3, Muji street.
