Motan town
Motan town is located in the southeast of Yuanba District, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province. In the East and North, it borders Wangcang County. It is adjacent to Cangxi County in the South and Jinxian and Wangjia towns in the West. It covers an area of 87.79 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 13 villager committees and 73 villager groups. The total population is 8724 (2017). The town government is located in motanzi, 21 kilometers away from Yuanba town. It is located on the Bank of the river. There is a big stone in the bank, which looks like a mill, so it is named.
Historical evolution
In July 1933, the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army built the Soviet of Guanyin Township in Wangjiaba District of Jialing county and the Soviet of motanzi Township in Baishui district. Guanyin Township Soviet governs Baisheng village of Guanyin Township and governs six village Soviets: yangjialiang, datianwan, sanqingmiao, gaojiagou, luojiayuan and Tianjiagou. After the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army crossed the Jialing River in 1935, the rural Soviet was abolished. In 1940, it belonged to Wang's hometown in Guangyuan County. Guanyin Township was established in 1950, and Baisheng village of Guanyin Township was under the jurisdiction of Wangjia district. In 1953, Baijia village and Baisheng village were included from Tian's hometown. Due to its original location to the west, it was moved to daozibang, sunjiaba and dongjiagou in Jinbao village. In 1957, changqingba in Changqing village was ruled. In 1958, Guanyin people's commune was established by the integration of government and society. In 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of Guanyin commune was established to replace the Management Committee of the commune, belonging to the Revolutionary Committee of Wangjia district. In 1981, the Revolutionary Committee of the commune was abolished and the Management Committee of the commune was restored. In 1984, the government and society were set up as the people's Government of Guanyin Township. In 1985, it belonged to Wangjia District Office of Central District of Guangyuan City. In 1986, it belonged to Weizi District Office of Shizhong District. In 1989, Weizi District Office of Shizhong District was removed, belonging to Wangjia Office of Yuanba district. In 1992, Wangjia office was removed, and the main place of township government was moved to motanzi, and Guanyin Township was changed to motanzi. In May 1993, with the approval of the provincial government, the new town was formed by the merger of Xiaoxin Township and Motan township. And changed Motan township to Motan town.
Economic industry
Motan is an agricultural town with primary industry as the main industry. It is rich in rice, corn, rape and soybean; by-products of medicinal materials and fruits; live pigs and flue-cured tobacco have become the main growth points of increasing farmers' income. In recent years, on the basis of consolidating the conventional traditional agriculture, Motan town has made great efforts in scientific and technological agriculture, characteristic agriculture and ecological agriculture, actively promoted the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure, and adjusted the proportion of the first, second and third industrial structure. The production of flue-cured tobacco has been the focus of the town's agricultural structure adjustment for many years. With 18 years of planting history, the scale has expanded year by year. The current planting area has reached more than 2500 mu, the output has reached more than 6300 Dan, and the output value has reached more than 3 million yuan. The two major products of grain and live pig have entered into pollution-free production, and grain production has been listed as the production base of high-quality commodity grain in the whole region, with an annual output of 3033 tons of high-quality rice; the scale of live pig production has gradually expanded, and the quality is excellent. There are 30 and 20 breeding households with an annual output of 100, 200 or more live pigs, respectively, and the binary hybridization of live pigs has been fully realized. the trend of economic development is optimistic. In 2007, the fiscal revenue was 3.298 million yuan, an increase of 569 million yuan or 14% over the previous year; the per capita net income of farmers was 1870 yuan, an increase of 200 yuan or 5.4% over the previous year; the total investment and grain production reached 2.54 million yuan or 4734 tons, an increase of 13% or 4.6%.

The annual output of main agricultural products in the town is 3033 tons of high-quality rice, 870 tons of rapeseed, 187 tons of fruits, 10327 pigs, 145300 birds and 189 tons of aquatic products.
