Guyang town

Guyang, formerly known as Guyue, is now known as Guyang Town, which governs Guyang village, 23 kilometers south of Guxian county.

General situation of the town

It is located at the foot of Huoshan mountain, with Anze in the East, Huozhou and Hongdong in the west, Yueyang town in the South and Beiping town in the north. The town covers an area of 137.01 square kilometers, high in the north and low in the south. It is a mountainous forest area with an average sea level of 850 meters and an average annual temperature of 6 ℃. At present, it has jurisdiction over 14 villager committees, 70 villager groups and 214 natural villages, with a total of 3200 households and more than 13000 people, and a cultivated area of 16020 mu.

The town is mainly traditional agriculture, basically dry land, mainly wheat and corn. The walnut industry in Guyang town has a long history. It is the main walnut production base in the county with its unique high-quality soft walnut, thin skin, full kernel and high oil yield. The town has 260000 walnut trees, with an average annual output of 1 million kg and a per capita walnut income of 100-200 yuan. The famous "walnut king" is located in wuerling village, Lingyun village, Guyang town. In 2010, the total grain output was 5080 tons, including 600 tons of wheat and 4480 tons of autumn grain; the total rural economic income of the town was 116.93 million yuan, and the per capita income was 3367 yuan.

Guyang town is rich in natural resources with good basic conditions. The territory is rich in coal resources, high-quality main coking coal reserves of 103 million tons, accounting for half of the total reserves of the county. The territory is rich in mineral resources, mainly bauxite, quartzite, limestone, dolomite, coal, refractory clay, silica ore, iron ore, titanium ore, molybdenum ore, coal gangue, etc. In particular, bauxite is shallow buried and easy to be mined, with a grade of more than 87%. Farmers' family income mainly revolves around the labor export of coal mine production, transportation industry, daily commodity sales and related service industries.

The territory has beautiful environment and rich tourism resources. The reliu Guandi temple, a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit, was built in the Song Dynasty and is well preserved. There are also famous seepage cliff, Lingyun cave and bingmasi tomb. In addition to the above records, there are many small tourism buildings in our town, such as Baisu Wenchang Pavilion, Jindui Erlang temple, Sanyuan hall, Bodhisattva temple, Wenchang building, Buddha cave, natural karst cave, Yaowang temple and Yuhuang temple, which are of great development value.

The forest is luxuriant, with high coverage rate.
