Historical evolution

After the victory of the "93" Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was under the jurisdiction of Fuhai district. In 1950, it was transferred to the fourth district. In April 1956, Fuhai township was set up. In November 1958, Dongfanghong people's commune was established jointly with 18 senior communes. In 1961, part of the production brigade was set up and the forest protection commune was established. In March 1984, Dongfanghong commune was changed into Dongfanghong township. In April 1985, the township government moved from Dongfanghong village to Ping'an Village.
