Tumen town

Tumen Town, founded in 1987, is 12 kilometers north of Yunxi County, bordering the urban area in the southeast and Zhaochuan and Yanma in Shaanxi Province in the northwest, with a total area of 217.63 square kilometers and a total area of 217.63 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 16 Township units, 18 administrative villages, 140 villager groups and 22030 people (2017).

The origin of place names

As early as the Qin and Han Dynasties, it was the key point of Qin and Chu. The local people built the earth into a city to protect their homes, so Tumen got its name

The town has 24439 mu of arable land, including 4561 mu of paddy field and 19878 mu of dry land. The actual forest area is 10308 hectares, and the volume of standing trees is 320000 cubic meters. It grows rare animals such as Caragana, civet and egret, rare plants such as fir, Phoebe, pine and cypress, camphor, and wild rare medicinal materials such as Gastrodia elata, Eucommia ulmoides, huotougen, bupleurum and mica, known as "natural medicine bank". It has been proved that there are 25 kinds of mineral resources with large reserves and high grade, such as manganese, gold, iron, zinc, coal, marble and limestone, which need to be developed and utilized urgently

geographical position

Tumen town is located in the southern foot of Qinling Mountains and the eastern part of Daba Mountains. It is a high mountain, two high mountain area and karst terrain with a large altitude drop and an average altitude of 572 meters. The annual average temperature is 17 ℃, the frost free period is 280 days, and the rainfall is about 1100mm

On April 9, 2020, it was rated as "excellent township for poverty alleviation" by Yunxi county Party committee and Yunxi County People's government.
