Dongyang Town, belonging to Gannan County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the east of Gannan county. It faces laha town of Nehe city across Nenjiang River in the East, Jubao town in the south, Baoshan Township in the west, Pingyang town and Chahayang farm in the north, with a total administrative area of 349.6 square kilometers.

History of construction
Dongyang town was once known as chuoerha street. It used to be the Daur and Sorun (Ewenki) hunting area of butha.
In 1906, Lu Wenting, a gentry in Jilin Province, built dongyangtun 2 kilometers to the west of chuoerha Datun (an old Daur Village) and set up a small rural market, which was named chuoerha street by borrowing the famous chuoerha.
In the fifth year of the Republic of China (1916), the street base was officially determined, with a two mile square city and a Jingwei cross street, "attracting investment to build the city.". In 1918, Ganjingzi moved to chuoerha Street (Dongyang). In 1921, he moved back to the second station and set up the fourth guard in chuoerha street. In 1926, it was renamed Dongyang Town, which was subordinate to Gannan county. In 1928, it was under the jurisdiction of the fourth district. In 1938, Dongyang village was established. In March 1946, Dongyang district was set up. In March 1948, the southern part of Dongyang district was set up as Jubao district.
In March 1956, the original Fifth District was divided into four townships: Dongyang, Heping, democracy and Minli.
In April 1958, Heping township was merged into Dongyang Township, and Minli township was merged into people's township; in September of the same year, Dongyang and Minzhu Township were merged to form Dongyang people's commune.
In March 1960, Jubao commune was merged into Dongyang commune.
In April 1984, Dongyang commune was changed into Dongyang town.
