After liberation, "Hongtai company" took over the county copper mine. In 1962, it was taken over by Chenzhou area and renamed Leiping nonferrous mine. The mine is located in yongchong village. In 1993, the indigenous method of arsenic smelting began to proliferate, and more than 300 arsenic ash stoves were built in the township, which seriously polluted the environment. After the county government banned it for many times and established management stations, the indigenous method of arsenic smelting was stopped. In 1994, the county and township jointly set up an arsenic products factory in yongchong village to refine arsenic with new method. The number of arsenic refining factories with new method has grown to four, and the products are exported to foreign countries. the town is rich in marble resources, with a reserve of tens of millions of tons. In 1991, the company set up a marble processing plant with an annual production of more than 10000 cubic meters of marble. The finished products sold well in Hubei, Guangxi, Guangdong and Southeast Asia. In September 2000, the township and the Department of chemistry of Tsinghua University reached an agreement on the processing of ultra-fine marble powder. Since then, blue marble has entered the field of architecture and decoration in China.
