Wasteland Township, which belongs to Kashgar City in Kashgar region of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the northwest of Kashgar City. It is connected with nezeerbage town in the East, xiamalebage town and Seman Township in the south, Langan Township in Shufu County in the West and Atushi city in the north, with a total area of 12.18 square kilometers and 3.2 kilometers away from Kashgar City.

In the late Qing Dynasty, the wasteland area belonged to horhanzhuang; on February 24, 2005, it was under the jurisdiction of Kashi City. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in wasteland township was 14699. In 2019, there will be one community and 11 administrative villages under the jurisdiction of rural wasteland.

In 2018, there were 3 industrial enterprises and 3 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in the wasteland.

History of construction

In the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to huoerhan village.

During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to Haohan township of Haohan district.

At the beginning of 1950, the third cavalry regiment of the Chinese people's Liberation Army was stationed in the area to open up wasteland and develop production.

In 1950, it belonged to Haohan District of Shufu county.

In 1954, it was transferred to Seman district.

In 1958, it was incorporated into Seman commune.

In August 1984, Seman commune set up wasteland.

On February 24, 2005, it was under the jurisdiction of Kashi City.
