Maidigou township is located in the southwest of Mianning County, Sichuan Province, on the west slope of yak. It covers an area of 109.1 square kilometers. The population is 2944, with the Yi nationality accounting for 95.6%. The township government is 51 kilometers away from the county seat. Ruanxinggou, Huangni, Qianfeng and Beixi are four administrative villages.
