Hongqi Town

Hongqi Town, belonging to Fengcheng City, Dandong City, Liaoning Province, is located in the south of Fengcheng City. It is adjacent to Bianmen town and Chang'an town of Donggang City in the East, Helong Manchu Township of Donggang City in the south, Lanqi town in the West and Baiqi town in the north, with an administrative area of 258.37 square kilometers.

In 1938, the puppet Manchuria established Hongqi village, belonging to Fengcheng county. In August 1985, Hongqi township was abolished and Hongqi Town was established. On March 4, 2002, Yulong town was abolished and Taigou village, the former Yulong Town, was included in Hongqi Town. By the end of 2018, the population of Hongqi Town registered residence was 19065. As of June 2020, Hongqi Town has nine administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the people's Government of Hongqi Town is located at No. 6 government road.

History of construction

In 1938, Hongqi village was set up in the puppet Manchuria state, belonging to Fengcheng county.

In 1945, Fengcheng County Committee of the Communist Party of China set up red flag District, which belongs to Gushan county.

In 1946, the KMT army occupied Fengcheng county and set up Hongqi township. In the countryside, there was a village level system.

In June 1947, the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army liberated Fengcheng.

In June 1949, Gushan county was abolished and Hongqi district was transferred to Fengcheng county.

In February 1951, sixteen districts (red flag), eighteen districts (blue flag) and five districts (white flag) were merged into the second district.

In March 1958, the red flag district (the Second District) was abolished and three townships, namely red flag, blue flag and Yangmu, were set up.

In September 1958, the three townships of Hongqi, Lanqi and Yangmu were abolished and Hongqi commune was established.

In July 1961, the former Lanqi and Yangmu communes were established separately.

In September 1983, Hongqi commune was abolished and Hongqi township was established.

In August 1985, Hongqi township was abolished and Hongqi Town was established.

On March 4, 2002, Yulong town was abolished and Taigou village, the former Yulong Town, was designated as Hongqi Town.
