Gaoling Township
Gaoling Township, a township under the jurisdiction of Wangdu County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is located in the east of Wangdu County, 5 kilometers away from the county. It borders on Yangcheng town of Qingyuan District in the East, zhonghanzhuang town in the south, Wangdu town in the West and Zhaozhuang town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 8.4 km, and the maximum distance from north to south is 7 km, with a total area of 40.31 square kilometers. In late 2018, the total registered residence of 29156 people was in the village.
Gaoling township was named after the original position of the township government between the South and North Gaoling villages. Gaoling township was built in April 1956. In June 1958, it was incorporated into Tang county and renamed Gaoling people's commune in September of the same year. In January 1984, Gaoling township was restored.. As of June 2020, Gaoling township has jurisdiction over one community and 23 administrative villages, and the Township People's government is located at 507 Wangqing Road, donghouying village. There are Beijing Hong Kong Macao expressway, s032 line, national highway 107 line and other trunk roads in the territory. Gaoling township is the planting site of Wangdu pepper, a national geographical indication product of China.

Gaoling township was named after the original position of the township government between the South and North Gaoling villages.
Gaoling township was built in April 1956.
In June 1958, it was incorporated into Tang county and renamed Gaoling people's commune in September of the same year.
In April 1961, the people's commune system was changed, belonging to Caozhuang district.
In January 1984, Gaoling township was restored.
In February 1996, Yangjiacun township was incorporated.

History and culture
It is said that the temple of heaven was built in Gaoling village with a long history. The site is in the southwest of tiansitai village.
It is said that in the late Western Han Dynasty, after Wang Mang usurped the throne, he led the army to capture Liu Xiu. Liu Xiulu was in Yangjia village, Lingxiang township. He was thirsty and hungry. He fell down in the pepper field. He picked a pepper and put it in his mouth. It was so hot that his cheeks were on fire. After eating it, he suddenly felt refreshed and threw off Wang Mang's pursuers. After Liu Xiu defeated Wang Mang and ascended the throne, he sealed the pepper "red when old, strong when young, burning, fragrant when young, long live your Pepper King".
