After the former Chengbei Township and Shuanghu Township were merged, the township was withdrawn to establish a town and renamed Fenghuang town.

General situation

In 1992, Shuanghu Township and Chengbei Township were merged to form Chengbei township. On April 1, 2011, Anhui Provincial Department of Civil Affairs issued a written reply, agreeing to abolish the former Fengtai County BEIXIANG and establish Fenghuang town. Fenghuang town is a typical suburban town. It is the seat of the county Party committee, county government and most of the organs directly under the county. It is also the political, economic, cultural and educational activity center in the north of Fengtai County. Phoenix town now has 13 villagers committees, 5 community committees, 84 natural villages and 194 Village (neighborhood) groups, with 42138 registered residence population (2017), with a total area of 61.25 square kilometers (2017) and 44 thousand mu of cultivated land. Our town is located in a superior position with convenient transportation. It is adjacent to Huaihe River in the East, Guiji town in the west, Chengguan town and Liuji Township in the south, and Luji Township in Dingji Township and Panji District in the north. In the West and south, there are provincial roads Fengmeng road and Fengli road crossing the border, county road Fenglu road connecting Fengtai and Panji through the seat of town government, and Fu Huai railway crossing the border. The water conservancy conditions are unique, and Yongxing river is close to us In the south of the town, Jiahe river passes through the territory from north to south, forming a water surface of nearly ten thousand mu Chengbei lake.
Fengtai Power Plant, a national power plant, is located in Gaoshan community in the west of our town, with abundant power resources. Chengbeihu pumping station and yongxinghe pumping station are under construction. Fenghuang Lake New District, covering an area of 24 square kilometers, is under construction, involving 4 communities and 6 administrative villages in our town. At present, the second phase of Zhangji Coal Mine relocation and resettlement project will be completed in the new area, and the third phase will be carried out soon. The widening project of neizhoulaibei road in the new area has been basically completed. Three longitudinal roads: Jiaozhou North Road, north section of Nanhu Avenue, Zhiwu Road, and two horizontal roads: Xinqu road and Huanhu road are about to be completed. The land acquisition and Housing measurement for the new campus of No.1 middle school, Oriental Hospital and No.5 hall have been basically completed, and the demolition and resettlement is in progress. The construction of Xinji new village has started, and the resettlement sites of Xinhu new village and sanligou new village have been selected.

Planning and construction

Fenghuang town master plan (2010-2030) held an expert review meeting on May 17, 2012. The meeting formed an evaluation committee with Professor level senior engineer and registered planning teacher Yuzhuo as the director. The expert group visited the site, reviewed the drawings and had a serious discussion. It is considered that the planning basis is relatively sufficient, the guiding ideology is clear, the planning principle is correct, the technical route is clear, and the planning content is complete, which basically meets the requirements of the urban planning compilation method. The principles are adopted. In order to improve the democracy and scientificity of the planning, the planning results are now publicized.
