Wu'an town

Wuan town belongs to Wuan city, Hebei Province. It is an industrial town with all-round development of various industries. It is located at the junction of Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces. It is extremely rich in mineral resources, mainly iron and coal mines.

In October 2019, Wu'an town was selected as one of the "Top 1000 towns with comprehensive strength in China in 2019".

General situation

Wu'an city

Wu'an town is located in the east of the city. Handan Changzhi railway, Handan circular railway, Xingtai dudang highway and 309 National Highway cross the border. The town government is located at 1531 Zhongxing Road. It covers an area of 41.5 square kilometers and has a population of 172700 (2017). There are Song Dynasty relic pagodas in the city, and there are ancient city ruins of Warring States period in dianzi village. Wu'an town is located in the political, economic, cultural and business center of Wu'an city, with a total of 18 streets (villages) and a cultivated area of 24100 mu. Since the reform and opening up, Wu'an town has been committed to economic development and urban construction, making it a new town with thriving enterprises, developed commerce, convenient transportation and prosperous market, known as "the first economic town in Southern Hebei". Since 1992, it has ranked first among Handan's "top ten towns". Marked by the rapid start of agricultural industrialization, the accelerated pace of industrial product restructuring, the further deepening of various reforms, and the increasingly active two-way opening up, the overall operation quality and efficiency of the national economy have been significantly improved. It has been awarded the honorary titles of "red flag civilized township", "unit with outstanding contribution to image construction" and "red flag unit for comprehensive management of social security".

Historical evolution

Chengguan town was established in 1951, the commune was established in 1958, Chengguan town was reestablished in 1984, and song Erzhuang township was merged into Wuan town in 1996. In 1997, it covered an area of 41.5 square kilometers and had a population of 71000. The whole town has established and developed five leading industries, such as pig raising, rabbit raising, chicken raising, vegetables and edible fungi, cultivated a number of leading enterprises with strong driving ability, and built a bridge between farmers and the market. In 2000, the total social income of the town reached 3.2 billion yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers reached 4100 yuan. More than 21800 employees and 1.2 billion yuan of fixed assets have formed eight industrial systems, including steel, light chemical, food, building materials, transportation, commercial trade, catering services, culture and entertainment.
