Dahe Town is located 20 kilometers northwest of Tongbai County. It is adjacent to Zhuzhuang Township with Tongbai gold mine and silver mine in the East, Anpeng Township with Alkali Mine and oil field in the west, Chengjiao Township and Huaiyuan Township with Dafu mountain in the south, and Biyang County with Pangu mountain in the north. The terrain of the town is wide in the northwest and narrow in the southeast. In the north and south, there are many mountains and dense trees. The hills in the central basin are winding and undulating, forming the unique landform of "eight mountains, one water and one farmland" in Dahe Town. Dahe Town now governs 13 villages and 153 villager groups with a total population of 10900 (2017). There are Han, Hui, Mongolian and Manchu nationalities. The total area is 150.77 square kilometers (2017), including 14527 mu of cultivated land, 130000 mu of forest land, 3200 mu of grassland and 54000 mu of water surface. The natural conditions of the town are superior, and there are abundant underground and above ground resources. The town is a mountainous town mainly based on agriculture and forestry. The main crops are rice and wheat, and the main economic crops are soybean, peanut and sesame.
