Zedang Street

Zedang street is under the jurisdiction of Naidong District, Shannan City, Tibet Autonomous Region of the people's Republic of China. It is 191 kilometers away from Lhasa and 87 kilometers away from Gongga Airport. It is the political, economic, cultural and traffic center of Shannan city and Naidong district.

In August 2019, with the approval of the people's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region and Shannan City, Zedang town was abolished and Zedang street was established.

Evolution of organizational system

In 1959, Zedang district was established, and in 1987, Zedang town was changed. In 2000, Zedang town and Jinlu Township merged to establish Zedang town. in August 2019, the people's Government of Tibet Autonomous Region and the people's Government of Shannan city agreed to cancel Zedang town and set up Zedang sub district office. On September 6, 2019, Zedang sub district office held the unveiling ceremony.

Zedang sub district office has jurisdiction over six community residents committees: Zedang community residents committee, Naidong community residents committee, Jiesha community residents committee, Guosha community residents committee, Zantang community residents committee and Jinlu community residents committee.

geographical position

Zedang street is geographically located in the east of the confluence of Yalong River and Yarlung Zangbo River, belonging to Naidong District of Shannan city. It is the seat of Shannan Municipal People's government, with an altitude of 3560 meters. The average annual temperature is 8 ℃ - 9 ℃, and the average temperature of the hottest month is 15.7 ℃. The annual precipitation is 302 mm, the solar radiation is strong, and the sunshine time is long. the main crops in the territory are highland barley, wheat, peas, rapeseed, etc. Handicraft industry is famous for producing fine silk, flower apron and warp paper. it is rich in mineral resources, especially chromium ore with the best quality and the largest reserves.

Zedang is the center of Yalong River scenic spot, the only national scenic spot in Tibet. Surrounded by mountains, there is Gongbu Rishen mountain in the East. To the west is mount xizha and to the south is the Gangdise mountains. Shannan is named for its location to the south of the Gangdise mountains.

Sangye temple,

It was built in 779. It was selected by master lianhuasheng, an Indian monk, and designed by master Jihu. It was built by chisongdezan, the fifth generation successor of Songzanganbu. Sangye temple not only plays an important role in Tibetan Buddhism, but also plays an important role in the history of Tibetan architecture.

Changzhu temple,

The Pearl thangka is the treasure of zhensi temple. The painting is the statue of Mu ni'e song in Jianqi period (the resting picture of Guanyin Bodhisattva). The whole thangka is 2 meters long and 1.2 meters wide. It consumes 26 taels of pearls (29026 pieces in total), one diamond inlaid, two rubies, one sapphire, 0.55 taels of amethyst, 0.91 taels of Turquoise (185 pieces in total), 4.1 taels of coral (1997 pieces in total), and 15.5 grams of gold.

Yongbulakan,

Located in Zhaxi mountain, 11 kilometers away from Zedang, although it is now dilapidated, its majestic momentum can still be identified. In Zedang, eating fragrant Zanba, ghee tea and highland barley wine, watching the devout Tibetans in long gowns pass by, thinking that they are now in the Yalong River region, where the Tibetans live, adds a magical feeling to their hearts.
