Chengguan Town

Chengguan town is located in the northeast of Baokang County, bordering Huangbao town in the East, Siping town and Maqiao town in the west, Houping town in the South and transitional bay town in the north. It is 23 km long from east to west, 15.4 km wide from north to south, covering an area of 245.9 square kilometers. The town governs 20 villages, 82 villager groups, 5 communities and 97 resident groups, with 17645 households and 59638 people, including agricultural population of 6542 households and 22211 people, and non-agricultural population of 11103 households and 37427 people.

Historical evolution

Chengguan town has a history of more than 500 years, which can be called "half a thousand ancient towns". Baokang County was established in the 11th year of Hongzhi (1498) of Ming Dynasty, and tantouping (now Chengguan police station) was established in the county. In 1521, Baokang set up eight townships and Chengguan was Tantou township; in 1796-1820, Jiaqing changed the township to Li and Chengguan to tantouli; in 1876-1908, Guangxu changed the township to Li and Chengguan to BEIXIANG; in 1936, Guangqian town was set up, which was the beginning of the independent establishment of Chengguan. After liberation, Chengguan District was set up; in September 1959, Chengguan town was set up; in April 1984, qingxihe commune was merged into Chengguan town.
