Qitai town

Qitai Town, belonging to Qitai County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of the county, adjacent to Gucheng Township in the East and south, and xibeiwan Township in the West and North. The area is 33 square kilometers. In 2018, 42924 people registered residence.

In March 1950, it was a district. In 1953, it was changed into Qitai city. In 1956, it was changed into a town. In 1958, it was a town commune. In 1961, the town system was restored. In October 2019, Qitai town has 19 communities under its jurisdiction.

In 2018, there were 169 industrial enterprises in Qitai Town, 22 Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size, and 105 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

At the end of 2011, the town of Qitai governs the three committees of the Qing Dynasty, namely, Shui Mo He three Qing palace, Dongguan, Town God's Temple, ploughshare, Tang Dynasty pier, old Mancheng Beidou palace, Ma Wang Miao Guo Guo Tan, Tian He and the residents' committee.

In October 2019, Qitai town has jurisdiction over lihuajian community, Dongguan community, laomancheng community, Mawangmiao community, Shuimohe community, Chenghuangmiao community, Jinshan community, Sanqinggong community, Tianshan community, Chongwen community, Jingyuan community, guoguotan community, Tuanjie community, Kangju community, beidougong community, Qitai happy community, Qitai Liyuan community and Qitai Jinxiu community There are 19 communities in Yujing community of Qitai town.

Qitai town belongs to temperate continental arid and semi-arid climate, which is characterized by hot summer and cold winter. The annual average temperature is 5.5 ℃; the average temperature in January is - 17 ℃; the extreme minimum temperature is - 42.6 ℃ (December 1, 1951); the average temperature in July is 22.9 ℃; the extreme maximum temperature is 41.2 ℃ (July 31, 2006).

The main natural disaster in Qitai town is flood. The most serious one occurred in July 2006, which caused floods due to continuous rainfall, resulting in direct economic losses of more than 2.5 million yuan in the whole town.

In the total population, there are 3598 males, accounting for 51%; 32409 females, accounting for 49%; 11353 persons under 14 years old, accounting for 17.2%; 50148 persons between 15 and 64 years old, accounting for 75.9%; 4506 persons over 65 years old, accounting for 6.89%. The total population is mainly Han nationality (50207, 76.1%); there are 21 ethnic minorities, including Uygur, Hui, Kazak, Manchu, Uzbek, Mongolia, Tatar, Russia, with a total population of 15800, accounting for 23.9%, and the population density is 4400 per square kilometer.

In 2011, animal husbandry in Qitai town mainly raised pigs, sheep, cattle and poultry.
