Jiwangchang township is under the jurisdiction of Lixin County, Bozhou City, Anhui Province. The township government is located 28 kilometers northwest of Lixin County, adjacent to Jiangji town in the East, Woyang County in the north, Zhangcun town in the West and Sunji town in the south. There are 8 communities and 3 village committees in the township. The average altitude is 29.5 meters.
In 2017, the administrative area of jiwangchang township was 7199 hectares, with 47561 permanent residents.
Historical evolution
In Xia and Shang Dynasties, it belonged to Dongyi group and Huaiyi territory. after the founding of the Western Zhou Dynasty, it was a vassal state of Huzi. Later, Hu was destroyed by Chu, so it became the territory of Chu. In Qin Dynasty, Ruyin county was set up in Hu area, so it belongs to Ruyin county. The Western Han Dynasty inherited the Qin system. the Three Kingdoms, the two Jin Dynasties, the northern and Southern Dynasties, the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the Five Dynasties, the Song Dynasty and the Jin Dynasty all follow the old system and are still Ruyin county. In 1265, Ruyin County entered Yingzhou and became the jurisdiction of Yingzhou. In the middle Hongwu Period of Ming Dynasty, it was the territory of Bozhou. In 1364, Fuyang, Mengcheng, Bozhou and Suzhou were set up in Woyang County, which was under the jurisdiction of Woyang county. During the period of the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of the Qing Dynasty. When new China was founded on October 1, 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of the Second District of Guoyang County (Jiangji District) according to the old system of the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. In the same year, Wangzhai township was set up under Jiangji district. In 1958, the people's commune was established, which belongs to jilunzhai commune and belongs to Jiangji district. In 1961, jiwangchang commune and Luji commune were established. On May 1, 1965, Lixin County was established. Jiangji district was under the jurisdiction of Lixin County, and jiwangchang and Luji communes were then divided into Lixin County. In January 1969, Ji Wangchang commune was retained and Luji commune was merged into Ji Wangchang commune. At the same time, seven brigades, including Lianqiao, lidazhuang, Xiazhuang, Sunlaojia, huicaiying, Guoqiao and Guanqiao, originally belonging to sanliwan commune of Zhangcun District, were under the jurisdiction of Ji Wangchang commune. on April 5, 1975, the District branch was established, jiwangchang commune was retained, Luji commune was restored, and it belonged to Sunji district. On April 4, 1983, jiwangchang commune and Luji commune were changed into townships, all the regiments under their jurisdiction were changed into villagers' committees, and the production teams were changed into villagers' groups. on February 27, 1992, jiwangchang Township and Luji Township were merged into jiwangchang township. Jiwangchang Township, the township government's residence, has been established.
