Horticulture Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Huinong District, Shizuishan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast suburb of Beicheng District, Huinong district. It is adjacent to the Yellow River in the East, the third drainage ditch in the west, and weizha town in the south. In 2017, the administrative area of Jiuli town was 8.47 square kilometers, with a permanent resident population of 43834.

General situation

It is adjacent to the Yellow River in the East, the third drainage ditch in the West and weizha town in the south, with a total area of 8.47 square kilometers. At present, it has 3 villagers' committees, 1 residents' committee and 11 villagers' groups. In the town's agricultural population and urban population, the Hui population accounts for 94.7%, which is a typical Hui town. Town flat terrain, convenient transportation, 109 National Road throughout the territory. The town people's government is located in the east of 109 National Road, about 1 km south of Anle bridge. In 1963, it became a horticultural commune. In 1983, it was changed into a horticultural township. In August 1994, the township was removed and established into a town. In July 2003, it was under the jurisdiction of the original Shizui mountain area.

Economic overview

The town has 1279.71 mu of cultivated land, 900 mu of River land, and 0.55 mu of cultivated land per capita. It mainly grows wheat, corn, oil sunflower, flax and other crops and high-quality forage grass. It relies on the pumping station to raise water from the Yellow River for irrigation. Due to the geographical advantages near the city, the traditional Hui people's business and breeding habits, and the current situation of cultivated land with more people and less land, the breeding industry and the secondary and tertiary industries have become the leading industries for the increase of farmers' income and economic development in horticultural town. One kilometer to the east of the town, there are ten thousand mu of Yellow River Salix ecological wetland, which has been gradually protected and developed. There is one primary school and one township level health center in the district. The school-age children's enrollment rate and primary health care have reached 100%. In recent years, horticultural town has witnessed rapid economic and social development, marked improvement of people's living standards, continuous progress of various social undertakings, social stability, national unity, people's living and working in peace and contentment, total social output value and per capita net income of farmers in Huinong District, and has become a strong economic town in the whole district and even the whole city. The establishment of Huinong District, especially the Riverside New Area of Huinong District, will soon be planned and constructed in horticultural Town, which has brought unprecedented historical opportunities for the urbanization and economic and social development of horticultural town.
