Xitieshan town
Xitieshan Town, belonging to the Dachaidan administrative region of Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province, is located in the northwest of Qinghai Province, the north edge of Qaidam Basin, the south of Dachaidan administrative region. It is connected with Delingha city in the East, Golmud City and Dulan County in the south, and weichaidan town in the West and North, with a total area of 2271 square kilometers.
Before the founding of new China, Xitieshan town was under the jurisdiction of Dulan County; in March 1993, Xitieshan town was established. By the end of 2017, the registered residence population of tin iron mountain town was 2005. In 2019, Xitieshan town governs one community, and the people's government is stationed in Xitieshan mining area community.
In 2018, there were 10 industrial enterprises in Xitieshan Town, including 7 above scale enterprises and 1 comprehensive store or supermarket with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

On January 27, 1992, the county-level Dachaidan administrative region was established as an agency of the people's Government of the prefecture.

Location context
Xitieshan town is located in the northwest of Qinghai Province, the northern margin of Qaidam Basin, the southern part of the great Qaidam administrative region. It is connected with Delingha city in the East, Golmud City and Dulan County in the south, and Xingwei Chaidan town in the West and North. It is 696km away from Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province, 190km away from Delingha, and 75KM away from Chaidan Town, where Xingwei is stationed, with a total area of 2271km.

Xitieshan town is located in Qaidam Basin, with typical Sandy and saline landscape. The surface is hard and sandy, and many ground forms various wind eroded sand forest or bare soil Yadan landform due to wind erosion. Gobi, salt marshes and lakes are widely distributed, with complex terrain, crisscross gullies, drought and water shortage, sparse vegetation and serious soil erosion. The terrain in the town is high in the West and low in the East, high in the north and low in the south .
climate
Xitieshan is a typical continental desert climate because of the southwest warm and humid air flow blocked by high mountains. It is dry and rainy all year round, windy and cold, long sunshine time and strong solar radiation. The average annual temperature is 1.4 ℃, the precipitation is 83.5 mm, and the frost free period is 108 days.

Xitieshan town is rich in mineral resources. There are more than ten kinds of non-ferrous metals such as lead, zinc, tin, copper, gold, silver, antimony, molybdenum, germanium and gallium in Xitieshan town. Among them, Xitieshan lead-zinc mine has large reserves, high grade and associated with a variety of rare and precious metal elements. The proven lead-zinc reserves are 22.7787 million tons, accounting for 90.2% of the total non-ferrous metal reserves in Qaidam area, The main associated minerals are sphalerite, galena and goethite; the associated minerals are more than 10 kinds of gold, silver, sulfur, germanium, gallium and cadmium, with a potential economic value of 2.845 billion yuan.
