Qingchuan Bridge

Wuhan city built the fourth city Hanjiang highway bridge, also known as Jianghan three bridge. Because of the red bridge arch, also known as "Rainbow Bridge". It is located between Jijiazui in Hankou and the south bank mouth of Hanyang, close to the entrance of Hanjiang River to Yangtze River Estuary. The bridge is 989.75 meters long, with a main span of 302.93 meters. It is a through concrete-filled steel tube tied arch bridge with a span of 280 meters. It crosses the river in one span. Both ends are connected with Hankou Yanhe Avenue and Hanyang Hannan road through four ramps. It crosses the Hanjiang River in an arc, just like a rainbow in the sky, adding a new landscape to Wuhan. The auxiliary bridge is a continuous rigid frame with different spans of 18-32 meters, with simple and bright lines; the approach bridge is a hollow slab bridge with a span of 16-18 meters. Two ramps (bridges) on Hankou bank connect with Yanhe Avenue. Its construction has opened up another urban trunk road that runs through Hankou and Hanyang, connecting Hanyang Avenue, Yanjiang Avenue, Jiefang Avenue, Jianshe Avenue, development avenue and zhanggongdi, easing the growing traffic pressure across the river.

It further improves the traffic conditions of Wuhan and creates a new good environment for the economic development of Wuhan.

Significance of bridge

Qingchuan Bridge is the bridge with the largest span, the latest structure and the highest technical content among the same type bridges in China. It was started on December 20, 1997 and opened to traffic by the end of 2000. It forms a riverside landscape belt with Guishan, nananzui and Longwangmiao, which plays a positive role in the development of transportation, circulation and tourism on both sides of the Hanjiang River. Qingchuan Bridge is also an important brand of urban environmental innovation in Wuhan. The construction of Qingchuan Bridge and its supporting facilities will greatly change the appearance of nananzui, Hanzheng Street, liuduqiao and other old urban areas. It will play a positive role in invigorating the circulation of Hanzheng Street and liuduqiao business district and promoting the development of Tourism in Guishan scenic area. After the completion of the project, the traffic conditions of Wuhan have been further improved, and a new good environment has been created for the economic development of Wuhan.
