1、 Tsinghua School

1. Setting up the background

In June 1900, the "Eight Power Allied forces" invaded China. In September 1901, the Qing government was forced to sign the "Xin Chou treaty" and compensate 450 million taels of silver, which is known as "gengzi indemnity". In 1904, the United States said that the compensation "was too much" and could be used for "refund". After many discussions between China and the United States, it was decided in 1908 to refund the money. In 1906, President James of the University of Illinois of the United States sent a memorandum to the president of the United States, which reflected the real purpose of the United States: "we must now be able to use the most satisfactory and ingenious way to control China's development - that is to say, to use the way to dominate China's leaders intellectually and spiritually." 2. Establishment of tourism Affairs Office

In July 1909, the Ministry of foreign affairs and the Ministry of education of the Qing Government jointly set up the office of tourism aesthetics, with a study hall for students to study in the United States.

3. Tsinghua School established

2、 Tsinghua School

1. Teacher teaching

3. Institute of Chinese Studies

4. Preparation department for studying in the United States
