Jiqu township of Nangqian County, in the southwest of Xiangda Town, the county seat of Nangqian County, borders on leiwuqi in Tibet. It is more than 140 kilometers away from the county, of which nearly 100 kilometers belong to national highway 214 and 46 kilometers are rural roads. Jiqu township has a population of 13073 (2017), which is mainly semi farming and semi pastoral. The whole township is mostly on the top of the mountain, and there are only some fields in the long and narrow valley where highland barley can be grown. Because there are many mountains, few slopes and few grasslands, there are not many cattle and sheep. The cash income of the residents only depends on digging a little Cordyceps every year, but Jiqu township is not a rich place for Cordyceps, and the residents can not dig much Cordyceps, so the residents are generally poor.
