Xiangda town
Xiangda Town, subordinate to Nangqian County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the east of the central part of the county, on the Bank of Zhaqu River in the upper reaches of Lancang River, bordering Maozhuang Township in the East, baizha Township in the south, Zhuxiao Township in the west, Juela Township and xiaxiaxiu Township in Yushu County in the north, 168 kilometers away from Jiegu Town, the capital of the prefecture. The area is 1364.3 square kilometers. In 2018, 23072 people registered residence.
Before the Wei and Jin Dynasties, it was the land of Qiang, and later it belonged to the state of Duomi and the state of Supi. The Tang Dynasty was under the jurisdiction of the Tubo regime. The Southern Song Dynasty was under the jurisdiction of the head of Nangqian tribe until the Qing Dynasty. At the beginning of the Republic of China, it was subordinate to the Qinghai administrative officer and Ninghai garrison envoy. In 1917, it was under the jurisdiction of Yushu. In 1929, it was under the jurisdiction of Yushu county. In 1933, it was under the jurisdiction of Nangqian county. In 1952, zajishog (District) was established. In 1959, Zaji commune was established. In 1963, Xiangda township was established. In 1972, Xiangda commune was established. In 1984, Xiangda township was restored. On October 15, 2001, Xiangda township was abolished and Xiangda town was established. As of October 2019, Xiangda town has 8 communities and 12 administrative villages.
In 2011, the arable land area of Xiangda town was 144000 mu, the main food crops were highland barley, potato, Daphne genkwa root and pea, and the main animal husbandry was yak.
Historical evolution

At the end of 2011, Xiangda town had eight communities, namely Zhatang, yanglongka, gedongyong, tangsayong, chakatang, naowulaze, Chaka and Samana, and 12 villagers' committees, namely Xiangda, Bami, qianmai, qianduo, lazong, dongcaixi village, lengri, duochang, Daqiao, Kangda, jiangka and Qingtu.
As of October 2019, Xiangda town has 8 communities: zhichaka community, chakatang community, yanglongka community, gedongyong community, tangsayong community, Samana community, naowulaze community and zhaxitang community; 12 administrative villages: Bami village, Qingtu village, dongcaixi village, lazong village, Daqiao village, jiangka village, Chada village, duochang village, lengri village, qianmai village, qianduo village and Xiangda village Village.

Xiangda town is located in the eastern part of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, with Hengduan Mountains in the south. There are many mountains in the town, with overlapping peaks. The area is divided and surrounded by mountains, with an average altitude of 3643.7 meters.

The annual average temperature is 3.8 ℃, the average temperature in the coldest month (January) is - 6.6 ℃, the average temperature in the warmest month (July) is 13.2 ℃, the extreme maximum temperature is 23 ℃, and the extreme minimum temperature is - 25.8 ℃. The annual precipitation is 527.3 mm.
