Historical evolution

It got its name from Jinxi Chemical Machinery Plant. It was established in 1966 as Ligong street and renamed Huaji street in 1982. 108 street was established in 1985. In 1996, Huaji Street covers an area of 2.3 square kilometers, with a population of 15000 and 11 neighborhood committees; 108 Street covers an area of 1.2 square kilometers, with a population of 4000 and 4 neighborhood committees. In 2002, Huaji sub district office was located in Huaji Road, with a population of 15900 people and an area of 2.3 square kilometers, governing Xinhua, Wulihe, Anning, Huashun and Funing communities; 108 sub district office was located in Xinhua Street, with a population of 5300 people and an area of 1.2 square kilometers, governing Beiyuan, Nanyuan and No. 6 communities. In 2006, 108 streets merged into Huaji street.
