Zhugu Township

Zhugu Township, belonging to Menyuan Hui Autonomous County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the eastern part of the Qilian Mountains, adjacent to bazha Township, Huzhu County in the East, biantan Township, Huzhu County in the south, Xianmi Township in the West and Tianzhu County, Gansu Province in the north. The area is 1017.75 square kilometers. In 2018, 5312 people registered residence.

Before 1929, it belonged to Xining county. In 1929, it was assigned to Menyuan County. In 1938, it belonged to Xianmi township. In 1949, it belonged to Xianmi township of three districts. In 1952, it belongs to Xianmi Tibetan Autonomous Region. In 1953, it was Zhugu township of six districts. In 1958, it was changed into Zhugu commune. In 1962, Zhugu township was established. In 1966, it was reconstituted into Zhugu commune. In 1968, it was changed into dawning commune. In 1984, it was changed to Zhugu township. As of October 2019, Zhugu rural area has jurisdiction over seven administrative villages.

In 2018, Zhugu township has 23 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

By the end of 2011, Zhugu Township had 7 villagers' committees, including yulongtan, xuelongtan, Dezong, Dongxu, Yuanshu, Sigou and chumayuan, and 21 production cooperatives.

As of October 2019, Zhugu township has jurisdiction over seven administrative villages: Yulong village, Dongxu village, Xuelong village, chumayuan village, zhugusi village, Yuanshu village and Dezong village.

The planting area of crops is 7253 mu, including 2569 mu of grain crops and 2330 mu of rape. Animal husbandry is mainly based on raising livestock, with a stock of 64000 at the end of the year, 5700 fattening and trafficking cattle, 28000 sheep, 18000 sheep improvement and 3300 cashmere goats improvement, 308000 Livestock Infectious Diseases Prevention and control and 159000 parasites elimination.
