Guangdong business and Technology University, located in Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, is a full-time regular undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. It is one of the first batch of undergraduate vocational education pilot schools in China.
The school was founded in 1996, formerly known as Guangdong Vocational College of industry and commerce. In 2018, it was upgraded to an undergraduate Vocational University with the approval of the Ministry of education, and its tentative name is Guangdong Vocational College of industry and Commerce (undergraduate). In May 2019, with the approval of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, Guangdong Vocational College of industry and Commerce (undergraduate) was renamed as Guangdong Vocational and Technical University of industry and commerce.
As of August 2019, the school has two campuses, Xinghu and Dawang, which are respectively located in Qixingyan national key scenic area (Duanzhou District, Zhaoqing City) and Zhaoqing national high tech Industrial Development Zone (Zhaoqing high tech Zone). The school covers an area of 1283 mu, with a total construction area of 443200 square meters.
Historical evolution
In 1996, the school was founded as the Oriental talent school. In 1997, the original Oriental talent school was renamed Zhaoqing Vocational School of industry and commerce. The school was moved to No. 48 Heping Road, downtown. In 1999, Zhaoqing College of industry and commerce was established.
In March 2004, with the approval of the people's Government of Guangdong Province and the record of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, Zhaoqing vocational and Technical College of industry and commerce was established.
In 2009, it successfully passed the evaluation of talent training in Higher Vocational Colleges of Guangdong Province.
At the end of 2013, Dawang Campus (National University Science Park) was established, covering an area of more than 280 mu.
In 2014, with the approval of the people's Government of Guangdong Province and the record of the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China, Zhaoqing business vocational and technical college was officially renamed as Guangdong Business Vocational College
.
In September 2017, the Department of education of Guangdong Province issued the notice on the application of colleges and universities included in the expert investigation in 2017, in which Guangdong Vocational College of industry and commerce applied to be upgraded and renamed as Guangdong Institute of industry and commerce.
In May 2018, the Ministry of Education issued the notice on approval of the establishment of colleges and universities in 2018. In the list of newly established universities, Guangdong Vocational College of industry and commerce is to be upgraded and renamed as Guangdong Xijiang University.
In December 2018, the Ministry of Education officially approved the upgrading of Guangdong Vocational College of industry and commerce to an undergraduate college, and Guangdong Vocational College of industry and commerce was renamed as Guangdong Vocational College of industry and Commerce (undergraduate).
In May 2019, the Ministry of Education issued a letter to reply that Guangdong Business Vocational College (undergraduate) was renamed as Guangdong Business Vocational and Technical University.
In July 2020, China soft International Industry College of Guangdong University of industry and commerce was established.
