Huangyu town

Huangyu Town, belonging to Qilihe district, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, connects Xiguoyuan town in the East, Lintao County in the south, pengjiaping town in the West and pengjiaping town in the north. The area is 68.5 square kilometers. In 2018, 17610 people registered residence.

In May 1961, Huangyu commune was established. In 1965, Taoyuan commune was incorporated. In May 1983, it was changed to Huangyu township. In October 2004, Hutan township was incorporated into the city. In 2016, the township was replaced by township. In June 2020, Huangyu town governs 11 administrative villages.

topographic features

Huangyu town is located in mountainous area, with deep mountains and deep gullies. The terrain is high in the South and low in the north, and inclines from south to north. The terrain is divided into the Loess ridge area in the front mountain with sparse vegetation, the Rocky Mountain Area in the back mountain with thin soil layer, and the undulating ridge area with crisscross gullies and platforms. The main mountains are dajianshan, with the highest peak at 2890 meters above sea level.

Huangyu Town River is a tributary of the Yellow River. The main river channel is Huangyu gully, which originates from Hongshan gully and is mostly seasonal flood.
