Longxiang Street

Longxiang street is a street under the jurisdiction of Tongxiang City, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is one of the three streets directly under Tongxiang municipal government. It is located in the hinterland of Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou and golden triangle. It lies in the golden waterway of Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal in the south, Wuzhen in the north, and Shenjiahu expressway is close at hand. The salt lake highway runs through the whole territory with Wuzhen Avenue, which was opened to traffic in 2016. With a total area of 39.83 square kilometers, the street governs 9 villages and 1 community, with a population of 25843 (2010). In December 2017, it was transferred to Wuzhen.

Evolution of organizational system

In the past, oak trees grew all over Longxiang (furnace head), so it was named Zhapu. In the Ming Dynasty, the Shen family moved from zhudun village, Wuxing (now the suburb of Huzhou City) to open smelter's workshop. After that, the industry gradually expanded. In addition to setting up stores nearby, Shen's smelter's workshop was also listed in major grocery stores in Songjiang, Jiashan, Pinghu, Jiaxing, Xiashi and Huzhou. At that time, the west end of the town was burning day and night. Because of this, the place name gradually became the furnace head. In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Qingfeng Township and Yongxin township. In 1932 for Zaolin, Yangyuan township. In 1946, most of Zaolin township was incorporated into Yangyuan Township, and the other part was incorporated into Yongxin township. At the beginning of liberation, it belonged to Yangyuan, Shiwan, Yongxin and other townships. After several changes, it was changed into Lutou Township in 1983, township into town in 1985, and Lutou town into Longxiang street in 2001. It has jurisdiction over Lutou neighborhood committee, 10 village committees including Yuanfeng, Longjing, Nanwang, Dongjia, Jinniu, Zhengfu, Yangyuan, Xianghou, danqiao and Zaolin, 179 villagers' groups, with a population of 27057, including 1100 non-agricultural population. In 2000, Lutou town had jurisdiction over Lutou neighborhood committee, including 10 village committees of Yuanfeng, Longjing, Nanwang, Dongjia, Jinniu Zhengfu, Yangyuan, Xianghou, danqiao and Zaolin. in 2001, Lutou town was abolished and Longxiang sub district office was set up to manage 10 villages and 1 residence in the former Lutou Town, located in Huashi East Road. in December 2017, the town was withdrawn and belonged to Wuzhen town.

economic construction

With solid industrial foundation, Longxiang has formed four pillar industries of light textile, building materials, chemical industry and machinery manufacturing, and cultivated and developed large-scale advantageous enterprises such as silk printing and dyeing, Hengmei clothing and Zhenda cement. The industrial park has become the main position for foreign investors to invest and develop. The first and second phases of the industrial park have been successfully developed and constructed, with 23 enterprises entering the park. The third phase of the project is under construction. The development momentum of the park is strong, and the agglomeration effect is increasing. In 2002, the industrial output value reached 710 million yuan.
