Wangqu street, belonging to Chang'an District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the middle of Chang'an District. It is adjacent to Duqu street in the East, Huangliang street and Ziwu street in the west, Weiqu street and Guodu street in the north, Wutai street and taiyigong street in the south, with a total area of 43.2 square kilometers.

The origin of place names
Wangqu is one of the "five Tunes" in the south of Chang'an city. It is a famous Imperial hunting garden since Han and Tang Dynasties. It is called "Wangqu" in Song Dynasty. It is surrounded by Qushui, called "Wangqu" in Song Dynasty and named "Wangqu town" in Qing Dynasty.
History of construction
In the Qing Dynasty, Wang Qu was under the jurisdiction of Du qucang and a town was set up.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the calendar for the township, town, District, joint protection.
In 1949, Wangqu Township, Wangqu District, was established.
In 1956, Wangqu township was divided into Ziwu district.
In 1958, Wangqu commune was established.
In 1961, it was divided into four communes: Wangqu commune, Wutai commune, Huangfu commune and Shibianyu commune.
After 1966, it was renamed Hongqu commune.
In 1972, the original name was restored.
