Youhuai street, belonging to Lintong District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the northeast of Lintong city and the North Bank of Weihe River. It is adjacent to Xinshi Town, Linwei District, Weinan City in the East, Weihe River in the South and hezhai street across the river, Jiaokou street in the West and Xiangqiao street in the north, with a total area of 43.6 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, it has jurisdiction over 11 villages, including 1 community and 10 administrative villages. Historical evolution
The origin of place names
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Huaili town and youfangjie town were merged and named as Youhuai town.
History of construction
In the Ming Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Yan Mengli, Yongfeng Township, Lintong county.
According to the records of Lintong County in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, youfangjie town (60 Li northeast of the county) was added, including Nanchang village, Xijia village and Wangjia village; Huaili town (now Huaili Village) was added in Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Huaili town was merged with youfangjie town and renamed Youhuai town.
In 1940, after the implementation of the new county system, Youhuai town was divided into 35 villages under the jurisdiction of Lintong county.
From 1949 to 1950, Youhuai town was changed into Youhuai District, with jurisdiction over 4 townships and 35 villages.
In 1951, Youhuai district was changed to Youhuai Township, under the jurisdiction of Xiangqiao district.
In September 1958, the township was changed to a management area under the jurisdiction of Xiangqiao commune.
In April 1961, the management area was abolished and a commune was established, belonging to Xiangqiao district.
In April 1984, Youhuai commune was changed into Youhuai township.
In February 2003, the township was set up.
In December 2009, the town was removed and Youhuai street was set up.
