Salt Lake Village
Geji County in Ali Prefecture of Tibet governs the township and two administrative villages, namely, Qiangdui village and qiangmai village.
It is located in the northeast of Geji County, adjacent to national highway 317, about 200 kilometers away from the county seat. It is adjacent to Wuma township of GEZE County in the East, rebang township of Nitu County in the north, and xiongba Township in the south.
Located in the great lake basin of Qiangtang plateau, with an average altitude of 4500 meters, it is dry and rainless all year round, belonging to the arid climate of sub frigid zone of the plateau.
evolution
The Salt Lake area was established in May 1961. In 1996, it had a population of 2900 and governed three townships, including four administrative villages in Xiama Township, three administrative villages in jiangmai Township and three administrative villages in Jiangduo township. In 2001, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and Salt Lake Township and wenbudangsang Township were established. Yanhu Township, formerly known as Chaka District, was renamed Yanhu Township in 1999. In 2000, there were 2072 permanent residents in Yanhu township (Wupu). In 1984, it governed six villages, namely, guobu, Xiaxia, guomeima, lacangzhi, Qina and guoluoma. In 2006, it has jurisdiction over two administrative villages, Qiangdui and qiangmai. geographical environment
It is located in the northeast of Geji County, adjacent to national highway 317, about 200 km away from the county, 130 km away from Wuma township of Gaize County in the East, 180 km away from rebang township of Nitu County in the north and 90 km away from xiongba Township in the south. The average altitude of the whole township is 4500m, and the annual precipitation is 80-110mm. located in the great lake basin of Qiangtang plateau, it belongs to the arid climate of sub frigid zone of the plateau, with sufficient sunshine, large temperature difference between day and night, strong wind and cold.
natural resources
The total area of the township is about 10700 square kilometers, and the total grassland area is 15021400 mu. there is a well-known boron and magnesium mining base in the country, zhalenchaka, which is also the largest salt lake in northern Tibet. the mineral resources in the territory include lithium, boron, molybdenum and salt. Among them, the borax mine and salt mine in the second group of qiangmai village have an annual output of 75000 tons. the wild animals in the territory are: Jinsi wild yak, wild donkey, Tibetan antelope, black necked Crane, crow, yellow goat, wolf, etc. Plants are: Zhama (Wenbu).
Population nationality
In 2000, there were 369 households and 1981 people in the township. In 2000, there were 2072 permanent residents in Yanhu township (Wupu). in 2010, there were 3124 permanent residents (in the sixth census of 2010). In February 2019, there were 850 farmers and herdsmen in the township, with a total of 3535 people; there were 87 cadres, including 30 administrative cadres, 43 enterprises and institutions, 8 township police stations and 6 township hospitals.
rural economy
In 2000, there were 116899 livestock in the township, including 59233 goats, 53446 sheep, 3502 yaks and 728 horses. In 2005, qiangmai village committee of Yanhu Township applied for 140000 yuan of poverty alleviation fund and raised 138000 yuan by itself to set up qiangmai village poverty alleviation salt farm. in January 2010, the economic cooperation organization of qiangmai village in Yanhu township was established, with 388200 yuan raised by the masses and 300000 yuan aided by the superior. In that year, the operating income was 1.13 million yuan, the profit was 520000 yuan, and 51976 yuan was cashed out to the participating masses. in February 2019, the township took animal husbandry as the pillar industry of economic development, with 91014 livestock stocks (sheep units), including 2870 yaks, 22756 sheep, 65196 goats and 192 horses. The main economic entities are: salt field, poverty alleviation Hostel, quarry, Yimin shop, Yanyang Ancient Road Hotel, business hotel, sheet metal processing plant, national handicraft processing point, logistics center, a total of 9.
Infrastructure construction
On December 30, 2017, the first batch of centralized resettlement sites of "Yanyang ancient road relocation and Anju garden" in Yanhu Township held a move in ceremony, with a total of 79 people from 18 families living in new houses. The total investment of the project is 8.417 million yuan. There are 3 buildings and 18 sets of houses, each of which is equipped with public toilet, electric drilling, courtyard and small warehouse.
Culture and education
In February 2019, there are 35 teachers, 15 logistics personnel, 521 students and 36 kindergartens in Yanhu complete primary school, with an enrollment rate of 100%.

The main tourist attractions of the township are Zhaxi Qulin temple, group 1 and group 4 rock paintings of qiangmai village and namalong stone pillars.
History and culture
There are two festivals in Salt Lake Township, i.e. Xingzhu Festival and horse racing festival, and the main religion is gamagaju sect. in June 2018, the custom of sheep carrying salt in Salt Lake Township was included in the fifth batch of representative projects of intangible cultural heritage in Tibet Autonomous Region.
