Gequn Township, Jiali County, Nagqu Prefecture, Tibet, is located in the northeast of Jiali county. It is connected with Ru County in the north and Bianba County in Changdu in the East. The whole township is located in the combination zone of northern Tibet Plateau and eastern Tibet Mountain Grand Canyon. Before liberation, Gequn township was once the only way for economic and trade ties between the mainland and Tibet.

In 1961, Guo xusongduo (place name) of Gequn Township formally established the former Tongde district. A Han Comrade surnamed Wang served as the acting secretary. The origin of Tongde's name was tongduo and degu, which were abbreviated as "Tongde". At that time, Aji, degu and tongduo were established as townships respectively, and they were divided into nine groups (villages). In 1963, Tongde District moved to tongqiongduo, and district Party branch committee and public security committee were successively established In 1980, the people's Government of Gequn township was set up. It has a subtropical climate. The annual average temperature is 21.5 ℃, the highest temperature is 39.6 ℃, the lowest temperature is 13.4 ℃, and the annual rainfall is about 1270 mm. The elevation of Kuangshan in Nahua village is 1388m, which is the commanding height of the whole township. The main rivers are Baihe River, which connects with Delong River, flows to Baihe River through Qinghua, and joins Beidou River to Bainan township. The river is about 23 km long, with a rainfall collection area of 320 square kilometers, a maximum flow of 431 cubic meters, a flow of 1.5 cubic meters per second in the most dry season, and an annual runoff of 389 million cubic meters.
