Pozhang Township

Pozhang township is a township under the jurisdiction of Naidong District, Shannan City, Tibet Autonomous Region. It is located in the central and southern part of Naidong District, adjacent to yadui Township in the south, Changzhu town in the north and Xiashui township of qiongjie County in the West. The township covers an area of 315 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages and the township government is stationed in Xuecun. In 2017, there were 6978 permanent residents in the township.

Pozhang Township and Dexing Township were established in 1959, commune was changed in 1969, and township was rebuilt in 1987. In 1996, with an area of 137.6 square kilometers and a population of 3300, Dexing Township had jurisdiction over six administrative villages, namely, Gela, Xue, Buren, sidui, Pibu and helugang; with an area of 172.5 square kilometers and a population of 3800, Dexing Township had jurisdiction over four administrative villages, namely, Dadang, Dixin, Xiaguo and ABA.

It is 16 kilometers away from the government of Naidong district. The township covers an area of 315 square kilometers.

Public welfare and cultural activities

Pozhang township of NAIDONG COUNTY is a poverty-stricken township at the autonomous region level. After the Wenchuan earthquake, the Party committee and government of pozhang township of NAIDONG COUNTY actively responded to the proposal issued by the Party committee and government of NAIDONG COUNTY, calling on all cadres and workers of the township to carry forward the traditional virtue of "one side has difficulties, all sides support" and extend a loving hand to help the people in the disaster area in earthquake relief.

In July 2011, pozhang Township held an art performance to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Tibet's peaceful liberation, with an audience of more than 3000 farmers and herdsmen.

On September 21, 2019, the first happy games for farmers and herdsmen will be held in pozhang Township, Naidong district. More than 500 farmers and herdsmen athletes will participate in the games, including traditional competitions such as beating horns, holding stones and turning oil barrels.
