Xipu Town, subordinate to Dongshan County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, is located in the Central County, in the middle of Dongshan Island. It is adjacent to the sea in the East, qianlou Township in the west, Zhangtang Township in the northeast, Xingchen Township in the northwest and Chencheng Township in the southwest. The area is 39.03 square kilometers. In 2017, there were 51837 permanent residents. By 2019, Xipu town has 13 administrative villages and 5 communities.

Historical evolution
In Qing Dynasty, Xipu (including Dongpu) was administratively located in Wudu Sandu of Zhao'an county.
The second year of Xuantong of Qing Dynasty (1910) belongs to the central region of Tongshan autonomous region of Zhao'an county.
In 1916, when the county was established, it belonged to the second district.
In 1933, Xipu was located in the third district, and Dongpu was located in the fourth district.
In 1936, Dongpu was changed to the second district and remained the headquarters of the regional administration; Xipu was still the third district and remained the headquarters of the regional administration.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), Xipu and Dongpu were subordinate to Zhongxing town. Xipu was the residence of the town office.
In May 1950, after liberation, the Second District Office was stationed in Xipu.
In 1956, Xipu was a town under the jurisdiction of Baicheng District, and the people's Committee of the county moved here from the first district (now Tongling).
Since 1958, the Management Committee (and the Revolutionary Committee) of Xipu people's commune has been stationed in Xipu.
In 1984, the town was established with the approval of the provincial people's government.
