Luojiang town

Luojiang town is subordinate to Bailang County, Shigatse City, where the people's government, the people's Congress and the Party committee of the county are stationed. It is located on the West Bank of the Nianchu River in the north of the county, with 7112 people (2017). The economy is dominated by agriculture, producing highland barley, wheat, rapeseed, etc., and raising yaks, sheep, goats, etc. There are woodland and grassland. Produce Fritillaria, Hu Liancao, safflower, snow lotus, etc. There are clinics and three primary schools. Shigatse Gyangze highway passes through this area.

Historical evolution

Luojiang, short for luobujiangzi, was once known as luobuqiongzi and luobujiangzi. In 1960, luobuqiongzi township was established, in 1970, it was changed into commune, and in 1984, it was restored. In 1988, pengguo and Xiajue townships were merged into Luojiang Township, and then the township was changed into town.
