It was founded in 1953. In 1997, it covers an area of 2.4 square kilometers and has a population of 58000. It has 13 neighborhood committees, including Wangjiang Road, hewenli, Taiping South Street, Taiping South New Street, Wenhua Road, hongwasi, Minzhu Road, laoma Road, Section 1 of Taiping xiajie, Section 2 of Taiping xiajie, Zhimin East Road, Guojia North Street and guojiaqiao South Street. In 2007, it was divided into Linjiang East Road community and Xinsheng Road community to the east of Xinnan road under the jurisdiction of Zhimin road. After the adjustment, the jurisdiction area is 2.96 square kilometers and the population is about 96000. The office is still located in guojiaqiao South Street. Meanwhile, the preparatory group of Wenhua community neighborhood committee of Sichuan University was established.
