Bianxiong Township
Bianxiong township is located in sangzhuzi District, Xigaze City, Tibet, with an area of 230.21 square kilometers and a population of 4902 (2017).
Sangzhuzi District of Shigatse City governs the township. Bianxiong township was established in January 1960. When the district was withdrawn to build a township in 1988, three townships originally belonging to Jiangdang District merged to form bianxiong township. Township government in Tama village, located in the east of the city, the South Bank of the Yarlung Zangbo River, about 19 kilometers away from the city. It covers an area of 230.21 square kilometers and has a population of 4902 (2017). National Highway 318 runs across the countryside. It has jurisdiction over 10 village committees of Tama, Punu, Puba, konbulin, gawa, zhaxigang, Lin, gagen, nubulin and Puxia. The main crops are highland barley, wheat, pea and rape. It is one of the major grain producing townships in Shigatse City.
