Dingfangshui Township, belonging to Xiahuayuan District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, is located in the north of Xiahuayuan District, bordering Duanjiabao Township in the East, Huayuan Township in the south, Xinzhuangzi Township in the west, jiajiaying Town, Zhaochuan town and pangjiabao town in Xuanhua District in the north, 6 kilometers away from the people's government of Xiahuayuan District, with a total area of 112.27 square kilometers.

In 1943, it was transferred to Xiahuayuan district; in 1984, it was changed from dingfangshui commune to dingfangshui township. As of June 2020, dingfangshui township has 15 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the Township People's government is stationed in dingfangshui village.
