Pingtouchuan Town, belonging to Huining County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, is located in the southeast of Huining County, bordering on Subao and Tianping township of Xiji County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in the East, laojunpo town in the south, Baliwan Township in the West and Dagou town in the north, with a total administrative area of 138.3 square kilometers.

In September 1958, Ma Lu commune was established; in September 1985, it was changed into pingtouchuan township. In 2015, pingtouchuan township was built from township. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Ping tou Chuan town was 12935. In June 2020, pingtouchuan town governs nine administrative villages.

In 2011, the total revenue of pingtouchuan town was 160 million yuan, an increase of 3.5% over the previous year. In 2018, pingtouchuan town has 16 industrial enterprises and 1 comprehensive store or supermarket with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

History of construction

By the end of 2011, pingtouchuan town had nine administrative villages: malicizui, Pingtou, Liwan, renwan, Qinglong, Liushugou, Shuangtou, wanqu and ZhangZui, and 57 villager groups.

In June 2020, pingtouchuan town governs nine administrative villages: Malu cizui village, pingtouchuan village, Qinglongshan village, Lijiawan village, renjiawan village, shuangtoucha village, Zhangjiazui village, Liushugou village and wanjiaqu village. The town people's government is stationed in Malu cizui village.

Pingtouchuan town is located in the hilly and gully area of the Loess Plateau in the middle of Gansu Province. The terrain is high in the southwest and low in the northeast. The terrain is crisscross with ridges and hills, with crisscross gullies and scattered Sichuan land. The highest point is located at the top of daxankou mountain in Liwan village, 2107 meters above sea level; the lowest point is located at the bottom of niuchuan River, 1705 meters above sea level.

There are three tributaries in the territory, which originate from Xiwan of Pingtou village, wangchanao of Qinglong village and YINCHAN Temple of Liwan village. The three tributaries meet at wanqu community of wanqu village and flow into Dagou Township from east to west. The river course in the territory is 25 km long.
