Zhefang town

Zhefang town is located in the southwest of Mangshi. It is connected with Santai mountain and Mengjia town in the East, Manghai town and Myanmar in the south, Xishan Township in the north and Ruili City in the West. Its border line is 8.1 km long and 39 km away from the city government. It is not only one of the central market towns in Luxi, but also an important transportation hub on the exit line of national highway 320.

In September 2018, Zhefang town was selected into the demonstration construction list of strong agricultural towns.

Zhefang town is located in the west of Mangshi, 45 kilometers away from the city. It covers an area of 437.71 square kilometers and has a population of 55148 (2017). Dai, Jingpo, De'ang and other ethnic minorities account for 80%. It has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages, including Jiedao, Humen, Hunong, nongxi, hula, zhemao, nongkan, gazhong, hebianzhai, nongqiu, wengjiao, Gongling and Bangda. In 1969, it was renamed Zhongdong commune. In 1984, it was renamed Dongshan District. In 1988, it was changed to township. In 1997, it covers an area of 147 square kilometers and has a population of 6000. It has 2634 people of Jingpo nationality and governs four administrative villages, namely, nongqiu, wengjiao, Guangling and Bangda. In 2005, Dongshan Township was abolished and merged into Zhefang town. State owned Zhefang farm was built in March 1956. The average altitude of the town is 1160 meters, belonging to the south subtropical monsoon climate. The annual average temperature is 19.8 ℃, the annual sunshine is between 2000-2452 hours, the frost free period is more than 300 days, and the annual average rainfall is 1300-1653 mm.

In 2008, the total rural economic income of the town was 248.6 million yuan, the financial income was 8.51 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 3082 yuan. Zhefang town is rich in tourism resources, including the magical and beautiful banyan tree group "dongshangyun" pagoda, the fairyland like hot spring - "yaochi", the setting sun of Longjiang scenery, and the river bank full of reed flowers set off by the long phoenix tail bamboo forest. Banyan group is located on Mangbing mountain by Zhefang nongkan River in Mangshi, with a total of 550 trees. It was planted in the early Qing Dynasty for the construction of Mangbing Pagoda in the early 17th century. It has a history of more than 300 years. The ancient trees block out the sky and the sun, which is like the formation of ancient cavalry, covering hundreds of mu. From a distance, it looks like a mountain and sea. The local people call it "Mengrong" (banyan country). Mangbing pagoda and zangfudong, which is called "dongshangyun" Pagoda in Dai language, means the pagoda at the junction of the three places. It is located on Mangbing mountain in Zhefang town. The tower was built in the early Qing Dynasty (early 17th century). According to folklore, this pagoda, together with jieleta in Ruili City and jingkan Pagoda in Longchuan County, is a relic Pagoda in which Sakyamuni was reincarnated into four generations: Golden Bear, mandarin duck, jade rabbit and Golden Peacock. When the tower was built, 550 big green trees were planted around. The original tower was destroyed in the cultural revolution. Some are hidden deep in the dense forest, some are exposed on the overhanging rocks, and some are near the river, Some of them are made of bronze, teak and white jade. Most of them have exquisite carving and various shapes, including cassock, armor, sitting posture and standing posture. The costumes are completely different. In the cave, from top to bottom, from inside to outside, they are neat, orderly and lifelike. Entering the cave, they are like heaven cave and earth Go to the Dragon Palace. For hundreds of years, the Buddhists of Bali, the four townships, have been sending Buddhist treasures here. As time goes by, no one can count how many Buddha statues there are, so they call it Wanfo Mountain, and each Buddhist cave is called Qianfo cave.

Zhefang town's industrial development is based on agriculture, consolidating grain, strengthening sugarcane, developing winter agriculture, cultivating rubber tea, and emerging tourism services.
