Mamaya town

Located in the northeast of Xingren city and on the South Bank of Beipanjiang River Basin, Mamaya town is a typical karst landform. It is 60km away from the urban area and 14km away from 324 National Highway. The county highway, Ji (Tun) and Bai (DE), passes through the town. It is connected with pingjiexiangyan formation of Zhenfeng County in the East, Huilong town of Xingren city in the south, Dashan Township and Baide town in the west, and Puli township of Guanling County across the river in the north.

Environmental population

The highest altitude is 1720m (Kaqi Village) and the lowest altitude is 493m (jiupan Village). The annual average temperature is 16.3 ℃, the annual rainfall is 1370 mm, and the land area is 102.97 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 20 administrative villages and 133 villager groups. The cultivated land area is 19300 mu, including 4000 mu of farmland, 2500 mu of returning farmland to forest, 13.7% of forest coverage, and 10000 mu of continuous grass slope. The main food crops are corn, rice and wheat, and the economic crops are tobacco, rape, coix seed rice, Amomum villosum and peanut. At the end of 2006, the population was more than 25030, and ethnic minorities accounted for 23% of the total population (mainly Buyi people, living in villages along the Beipan River). The per capita net income of farmers was 1710 yuan.

It is planned to guide farmers to build 1500 mu of "pollution-free" off-season vegetable bases and 3000 mu of Amomum villosum in Bulang, milang, jiupan and other six villages below 710 meters above sea level by 2007; transform the grassland quality of 10000 mu in jiupan, increase the carrying capacity of livestock, improve the quality of livestock products and market rate, so as to raise 10 heads of livestock per household in this area; and breed horses in karst landforms above 710 meters and below 1720 meters above sea level Combined with returning farmland to forest and Forestation in barren mountains, we should develop 3500 mu of honeysuckle, improve the scientific and technological content of hybrid corn seedling and transplanting, build corresponding product processing industry, increase farmers' income, and realize economic leap forward development.
