Xichuan township government is located in the southwest of the county, 2400 meters above sea level. It borders Songping township of Yongsheng County in the south, Jinsha River in the west, Yulong County across the river, and Cuiyu, Hongqi and Hongqiao townships in the north. Tan wool, second fur, cashmere, lamb, linseed oil and buckwheat flour products produced in the township are well-known.
