Shangsi Township

Shangsi Township, located in the north of Jiange County, is only 5 kilometers away from Xiasi town. It is a typical industrial township in Jiange county. After the relocation of Xiasi town in 2003, Shangsi township has become one of the urban clusters in Jiange county and the back garden of the city.

Jiange County governs the township. Maoer township was established in 1952, renamed Shangsi Township in 1953, transferred to Puguang Township in 1955, reformed to Shangsi commune in 1958, restored to township in 1984, transferred to Jiange County in 1991, merged into Xiasi town in 1992, and returned to township in 1995. It is located in the north of the county, only 5km away from Xiasi town and 68km away from Pu'an town. The township covers an area of 29.09 square kilometers, with a population of 3268 (2017), including Shangsi, Sanfang village committee, mast village committee and Maoer village committee. Baocheng railway passes through the country. Zhuyuan Xiasi highway runs through Xiasi town and connects with national highway 108 and mianguang expressway. Economy agriculture mainly produces corn and wheat.
