Xinghua Shui nationality township is located in the southwest of Rongjiang County, the hinterland of moon mountain and the middle and upper reaches of Duliu river.

Xinghua Shui nationality township is located in the southwest of Rongjiang County, the hinterland of moon mountain and the middle and upper reaches of Duliu river. The township is 53 kilometers away from the county seat, adjacent to Dingwei Township in the East, Bajie Township in Sandu County of Qiannan Prefecture in the west, tailwater Township in the south, and Sanjiang Shui Township in the north, covering an area of 178 square kilometers. The township governs 9 administrative villages, 53 villager groups, a total of 2190 households, with a total population of 10053 people. Ethnic minorities account for 98.3% of the total population of the township. Due to natural conditions and historical reasons, Xinghua township is one of the poorest townships in Rongjiang county because of its weak economic foundation and large poverty.
