MaoGong town

MaoGong town is a town under the jurisdiction of Liping County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province. It is located in the west of Liping County, 42 kilometers away from the county seat. 302 provincial highway, Lirong highway, passes through the town. Located in the watershed between the Yangtze River system and the Pearl River system, the township is dominated by low and middle mountains, with the highest altitude of 1122 meters and the lowest altitude of 510 meters. The annual average temperature is 15 ℃, and the annual rainfall is 1308 mm. It belongs to the mid subtropical monsoon climate, with spring like seasons.

MaoGong township was named "the hometown of Dong opera" in 1994 and listed in the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2009. It is the birthplace of Dong opera at home and abroad. There are rich customs of Dong people in the township, such as bullfighting, playing Lusheng and stepping on the song hall. The tomb of Wu Wencai, the founder of the high wind field near the wind rain bridge, the ancient stage and the Dong Dong opera, was listed by the provincial people's government as a key cultural relic protection unit. The Huaqiao village Huaqiao group, drum tower group, Zhai gate, Dong Nationality Ecological Museum, dun Chen's Sino Japanese Friendship drum tower were the essence of the Dong nationality's architecture, and the treasures of national architecture. Dong opera and Dong song were wonderful works of national literature and art. There are Drum Tower, flower bridge and Dong opera troupes in every village. Everyone loves to watch Dong opera and can sing Dong songs. In December 2015, the people's Government of Guizhou Province approved the establishment of MaoGong town in MaoGong township.

Local Xianghe glutinous rice has a unique taste. "MaoGong refined rice" and "MaoGong fragrant rice" are deeply loved by the majority of consumers. "MaoGong fragrant chicken", "MaoGong fragrant sheep" and "MaoGong yellow cattle" are famous for their delicate meat. The local products of MaoGong town are unique and delicious. MaoGong Chongyang wine is brewed with local fragrant glutinous rice and high-quality rice on the ninth day of the ninth month of the ninth lunar month.
