Zongping township is located in the southernmost part of Daozhen Gelao and Miao Autonomous County. Daping township was established in 1953 and changed to Zongping Township in 1984. It is located in the east of the south of the county, next to Furong River in the west, 43 kilometers away from the county, NiGao township of Wuchuan County in the East, Banzhu township of Zheng'an County in the south, facing Longxing town of the county across the river (Furong River) from the west to the North, and old towns of the county in the northeast. There are county highway transit. With an area of 77.12 square kilometers, it governs 5 administrative villages and 89 villager groups, with a total number of 3398 households and a total population of 13611, including 299 non-agricultural population. Zongping township has jurisdiction over 12 administrative villages including Sili, Zhongcun, Hongguang, Sanlian, Wenlian, songjiayuanzi, gengshan, cangpuxi, waziping, Zhaoshan, Laolin and Fanshan. The historic site has the Guanyin pavilion built in 1865.
